


Clifton joined Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver’s litigation practice group in 2011. Immediately prior to joining Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver, Clifton was in private litigation practice in Vienna, VA. He has extensive private practice civil litigation experience and has represented clients before a variety of federal courts and federal administrative agencies.
Clifton graduated from Northwestern University School of Law in 2004 and Princeton University in 1997. While in law school, Clifton served as a law clerk in the U.S. Attorney's Offices for the Northern District of Illinois (Fall 2002) and the District of Massachusetts (Summer 2002).
Clifton earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Princeton University in 1997. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Northwestern University School of Law in 2004. During law school Clifton was a Senior Editor for the Northwestern Journal of International Law and Business and represented Northwestern Law on its Jessup International Law Moot Court Team.
Clifton’s publications have appeared in the Journal of International Law and Business and the Journal of International Maritime Law. His bar admissions include the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the State of Maryland. He is also admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Mr. Nelsen has been influential in the sales and marketing of information products and services since 1970.
